McLeod has spent 24 years in baseball operations and the professional coaching ranks, the last eight seasons overseeing amateur scouting and player development in the Cubs organization. In his first four drafts with Chicago, the club selected Albert Almora Jr. (2012), Kris Bryant (2013), Kyle Schwarber (2014) and Ian Happ (2015) while 2018 first-round pick Nico Hoerner became the first member of that draft class to play in the majors when he made his big league debut this week. Almora, Bryant and Schwarber were key contributors to the club’s 2016 World Championship.
