James Maness (May 1, 1963 – September 21, 2024) was an American professional football player who was a wide receiver for the Chicago Bears of the National Football League (NFL). Maness was selected by the Bears in the third round of the 1985 NFL draft with the 78th overall pick, and was a member of the Bears team that won Super Bowl XX. In his one season with the Bears, Maness played eight games for the Bears, catching one pass for 34 yards and returning two punts, before a groin injury cut his season short.
