Jonathan Mota played in the minor leagues from 2005 to 2015. He spent his entire career in the minor league organization of the Chicago Cubs and was a true utility player, seeing action at every position on the diamond, including 7 games as a pitcher (he went 1-2, 1.35 in 6 2/3 innings). His principal positions were the three traditional infield spots, however. He was in AAA for parts of five seasons, and hit .257 in 964 games. He was also a fixture in the winter leagues, playing in both the Venezuelan League and the Puerto Rican League. Following his playing career, he became a minor league coach and manager.
